The Big Picture:

Japan: August of 2028.

As we begin planning our journey to Japan, things are already getting complicated. Everyone has opinions, budgets matter, sensory needs matter, and apparently we can’t even agree on a picture for our Great Debate page.

As of now, we will miss the cherry blossom festival. We will also miss Sumo Wrestling season. Most travel blogs will tell you this is a mistake, but with sensory concerns in our picture, we are looking at August 2028.

Sensory Management

The kids have already claimed Akihabara as the main attraction in Tokyo and put that on the “must do” list. This will be challenging with the bright lights, but I am feeling it is more manageable without the addition of the Cherry Blossom festival. The extra crowd would be a constant during our trip with no escape route planned. The crowds are brutal on the soul, and that matters to Nicole. It does to me too.

Looking at the Budget

Flights are cheaper in August, which makes a difference for 6 plus people traveling across the ocean together. Let’s be honest, were on a budget here.

Even two hundred dollars less and thats twelve hundred that stays in our pocket. Yeah, we will pinch those pennies every time.

With the money saved on flights, we can invest more in Lodging. This ensures that Nicole has a quiet space to retreat to and the end of a long day.

Yes I have a plan for Meltdown Management, COPD on the loose, and us old People aren’t built for this blues that will be addressed throughout our planning.

Lets make a plan

In this section we will find our key points of interest, how to get there, where to stay. The entire family participates, and lists are made. We will research, we will Debate, we will come up with a list of what is doable and what is not, then dive into the Plan.

Pick your side

In these sections of our Blog, we will be planning our Trip in real time. What this means is you have a front row seat in Our Journey. We would love your feedback, your ideas, and your thoughts throughout the process. Even if you haven’t been to Japan (we haven’t either) Your input matters and gives us ideas that we may have never thought of.

So, come on in, jump on a “team” and show some support for your favorite crew member!

And so our Journey Begins…
